The clearest version of the idea is not “an app for the Delhi Metro.” That description is too broad to guide product decisions or measure whether the beta works.
The specific idea
A rider chooses a starting station, destination, preferred route, and whether the reminder should arrive one, two, or three stops early.
MetroPing then follows the active journey and tries to provide a useful destination or interchange alert, including while the phone is locked when permissions and device settings allow.
The problem behind it
Route planning answers how to reach a destination. During the ride, the passenger may still count stations, check the phone repeatedly, or search for a display in a crowded coach.
That creates two needs: reassurance that the important station is not being missed, and freedom to focus on reading, working, music, rest, or something else.
What MetroPing is not trying to solve
It is not replacing train announcements, station displays, route maps, or the entire journey-planning experience. It is also not necessary for every passenger or every trip.
Keeping that boundary clear makes it easier to decide which features belong in the product and which useful ideas should wait.
Choose the journey once. Get a personal reminder before you need to act.
The beta is testing whether that narrow promise solves a frequent enough problem for real riders.
