What a simulator is good at
It is useful for checking screens, route choices, state changes, and repeatable location sequences. It makes a known scenario easy to run again after a code change.
That controlled environment is valuable, but it removes much of the uncertainty MetroPing has to survive.
What only a real journey reveals
Inside a moving train, location can weaken or jump. The phone may be locked, another app may be open, and the operating system may reduce background work to save battery.
A journey also reveals whether an alert is useful from a human perspective: not only whether it fired, but whether it gave enough time to prepare.
Why volunteer testers matter
No independent developer can own every Android model or reproduce every manufacturer setting. Testers expand the evidence across routes, devices, permissions, and everyday phone habits.
That evidence turns a one-device demo into a product that can gradually become more dependable.
Generated code is not the same as a validated product.
AI and simulators accelerate development. Reliability comes from repeated real journeys, debugging, and patience.
